The Issues

Economy: Leslie Knope has worked tirelessly to optimize spending at a local level by seeking out the best ways to lower costs while avoiding cutting programs. She was a leading figure in the merger of Old Eagletown into Pawnee, as well as in the budget crisis that threatened Pawnee with bankruptcy. Ms. Knope believes in increasing jobs and funding businesses that have the opportunity to do so.

Public Health: Coming from the city ranked fourth in obesity, Leslie Knope knows that public health is important for the nation's well being. She would like to see a more comprehensive school lunch program that works to help cut down America's rising child obesity rates.

Environment: Through her work in the Parks and Recreation department, Leslie Knope has seen the importance of preserving and utilizing our natural resources. She support conservation of our country's natural resources and seeking out better and renewable sources of energy in the future.
